Welcome to C++

Unit Outline

It is expected that in this four week unit you will learn:

  • Learn the basics of C++ terminology
  • Learn the basics of C++ programming
  • How to create a short C++ program
  • To modify and create an original C++ code game

Assessment will be based on:

#1 – Introduction to C++ – Learn the proper techniques, terminology, and concepts around C+++ programming– 50 marks (based on correct completion)

#2– Learning the C++ Programming- Learning the basic functions of C++ programming inside Eclipse and building a program – 60 marks (based on correct completion)

#3 – Applying Techniques– a Project to test out the techniques you learned – 50 marks (based on correct completion, teacher observation, and a final presentation rubric)

#4 – Reflection/Review – a review of the unit for major components, a reflection on what you learned, and observations on other student projects –30 marks (based on correct completion)

All work is expected to be uploaded to your blog and when asked, to the teacher hand-in folder.

Week 1 -2 –

#1 – Introduction to C++

Week 2 – 3

#2a – C++ Tutorials – Part 1– upload the descriptions and final screen shot of code and working calculator

#2b – C++ Tutorials – Part 2– upload the descriptions and final screen shot of code and working Stock Market Simulator

Week 3 – 4

#3 – C++ Projects – create a working project, export it to the Hand-In folder, take screen shots and post them to your Unit 1 page explaining what you built.

#4 – Reflection-Review – answer these final questions, create a reflection, hand in your programs, and “snip” comments left on other student blogs
